Jasmine Johnson

Jasmine Johnson has spent the last 14 years working as a technician and in management roles with experience in veterinary clinics, veterinary schools, and animal shelters. She currently manages operations, and the veterinary program at a mid-large sized municipal shelter in North Carolina, where she has been for the past 6 years.

During her time there, she has not only helped to improve the live release rate from 70% to 90%, but also created a number of programs to help improve the lives of the pets and animals in the community.

Jasmine has an extensive background in management (both clinical and sheltering), organizational development, event planning, budget management and efficient program creation. She has a particular interest in increasing diversity through recruitment strategies that center DEI and has worked diligently to improve her current shelter’s interview and hiring practices. She has a passion for helping people and animals which has been a constant throughout her career. This passion is particularly evident in her implementation and maintenance of programs that help provide access to care for low income families and their pets.

Jasmine currently resides in North Carolina with her wife, two human children and a plethora of animal children.
