We offer the following services:

Phone Consultations

After the initial email contact, we may decide that we can assist with a particular issue without a site visit necessary. Phone consultations cover a wide range of subjects from infectious disease topics to daily care practices. Calls may be scheduled on an as-needed basis or on retainer.

Design Consultations

We work with architects, engineers, and planners to assist with design of animal housing facilities including the building of animal control facilities, spay-neuter clinics, animal boarding facilities and adoption centers. Design plans may be reviewed in a series of conference calls or in-person depending on location. Placement of housing units, flow-thru planning, materials, and design of animal housing areas may be discussed. Recommendations for the number of housing units appropriate for a particular facility may be given if population statistics are available. We take into consideration the needs of the animals when working with you, and with our expertise in shelter medicine, help create buildings where animals stay healthy and people are happy.

On-site Consultations

Sometimes a problem is best solved face-to-face, so we offer on site consultations as our schedule permits. These consultations are tailored to the needs of the individual organization. For example, there may be a half-day or day of observations where daily care practices are observed, including cleaning, feeding, veterinary services, behavior testing, and adoption services. Statistics are analyzed prior to the consultation and are discussed with management and staff. Contact us to discuss your organization's specific needs.

Not quite sure what you need?

JVR Shelter Strategies offers retainer services for those organizations needing assistance on an on-going basis. Blocks of hours may be scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis. Depending on location, site-visits can be included. This type of service may be useful for shelters that are planning to implement changes over a course of time where feedback would be helpful throughout the process.
